It also includes step by step instructions on how to file the case, what to do at the one and only appearance you will need to make in person (the Meeting of the Creditors), and support via email if you need any further assistance.

I have three years experience as an attorney and have represented many bankruptcy clients throughout that time. The vast majority of bankruptcies are simple processes and the attorney involvement is very limited. The difficult part of a bankruptcy is preparing the paperwork. Everything else in most cases is very simple. That is why I now offer this "documents and instructions only" service. It saves the consumer a lot of money and effectuates a bankruptcy just as well as paying an attorney thousands of dollars to represent you in full.

As you probably know, the new bankruptcy laws make it slightly more difficult to file bankruptcy than it used to be. The threshold "means test" is the first step and determines whether you are eligible for Chapter 7 (complete discharge within 6 months) or Chapter 13 (where you must pay back a portion of the debt over a period of 3 or 5 years). The determining factor in the means test is whether your household income is above or below the median income for the state. If you are not married, then the median income in Texas is $37,676 ($55,000 for married couples). If you make less than this per year, then you will be eligible for Chapter 7. If you make more, then you might be forced into Chapter 13. I will crunch the numbers for you and create the paperwork so it will be the most favorable for you and achieve discharge as soon as possible.

The total cost for my Chapter 7 service (if you make less than the median income per year) is $800. The cost for my Chapter 13 service is $1,200. The Chapter 13 service includes a payment plan that you will file with the court. Chapter 13 cases also require an additional meeting with the trustee and my service includes instructions and guidance for that meeting.
