Scan using your smartphone
Each multi-page document sent to the attorney needs to be sent as a single multi-page PDF format file, properly named/labeled with the title of the document. Extra legal fees will be charged if the documents are sent in file formats other than PDF or if a single multi-page document is sent as multiple single-page PDF files for a document that should be saved as one multi-page PDF file.
Below are instructions on how to scan with your smartphone.
When scanning your documents, please make sure each page is spread out flat on a flat surface and shadows are minimized. Remove staples and take full-page photographs (scans) of each page. Save each document as its own multi-page, properly named, PDF file.
On an iPhone:
• Open the Notes app. Create a new note by clicking the icon that looks like a square with a pen located at the screen's bottom right.
• Tap the camera icon at the bottom of your new note and select Scan Documents.
• Hold your phone over the document you want to scan. Tap the photo shutter button at the bottom of the screen.
• You can edit the image by dragging around the page corners.
• Continue tapping the photo shutter button for each subsequent page.
• When finished scanning all pages in that document, tap Save on the bottom right of your screen. Your file will save as a PDF. Name the file with the title of the document.
On an Android phone:
You can get the job done using your camera or the Google Drive app on an Android phone. To do this using Google Drive:
• Open the Google Drive app. Tap Add in the bottom right corner.
• Tap Scan, and take a photo of the document you’d like to scan. Continue scanning each page in the document until finished. Hit Done. Save as a PDF and name the file with the title of the document.
You may upload the PDF files in the online questionnaire or email to Attorney Donald C. Nemec at dcnemec@nemeclaw.com.
